
The Cercle Català de Negocis (www.ccncat.cat - The Catalan Business Circle) has organised for next Wednesday 21 September, at seven pm, a talk with Jim Mather, former Minister for Enterprise, Energy and Tourism of the Scottish government. Mather will present a paper on why nations such as Scotland need the independence in order to release the full economic potential in these financially difficult times.
The lecture will take place in the Aula Magna of the Faculty of Economics, University of Barcelona (Diagonal, 690).
The conference will be opened by the General Secretary of the Catalan Business Circle, Mr Joan Canadell. Ms Elisenda Paluzie, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Professor of Economic Theory at the University of Barcelona, will chair the Q&A session.
Xavier Solano, former Head of the Delegation of the Government of Catalonia in London, will put into context the Scottish political reality from a Catalan perspectice.
In addition, Mather will participate in a press conference in the Catalan Parliament and in a breakfast with members of the Catalan business association FemCat (www.femcat.cat).
